Event Description:

What does a Chamber of Commerce do, exactly? It doesn’t matter what your industry is or what business you are in, support is key. Support from like-minded people can help you to find success.  There are many resources that we all tap into, like online groups or social media, but a largely untapped resource is on the community level. The Chamber of Commerce in your local community can be a huge untapped resource.

We have put together a diverse group of chamber directors to dive deep into what a chamber is and how they help small business owners thrive.  We will also discuss the current Covid-19 pandemic and how chambers in different communities are helping their members with strategies, programs, events, ideas and tips to help business owners pivot, re-brand, re-open, and stay in business during Covid-19.

This panel will be held virtually on Zoom.  Please be aware that this will be recorded live for a future Women Own It Podcast

Deserae Stevenson
Carbon County Chamber of Commerce

Hi, My name is Deserae Stevenson, I am the Executive Director for the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. I have been with the Chamber for 3 years and only 2 years of being the Executive Director. I am a mom of 3 girls and I am married to the love of my life. We love going for rides, whether that is in the mountains or desert, we love going for a drive and see what Carbon County has to offer. Working for the Chamber has shown me what it is like for business owners and I understand their point of view now on decisions they have to make to keep their doors open.  And I see the struggle and the strengths that happen in my community and I love being a part of it all. The Chamber is a great resource for our community and I am lucky to be a part of it.
