Ki Coffee Box is a culture subscription box that features coffee from around the world and the stories that it tells. In North American culture, coffee is more of a vehicle that simply offers us caffeine and sugar to get us through our day; or sometimes it serves as a social setting for get togethers or first dates. For those with a deeper interest in coffee, we have started learning about and drinking coffee like we do wine. Where did it come from, where was it grown and how does it taste? But no one ever really talks about the CULTURE of coffee. Have you ever wondered how someone in Vietnam drinks their coffee? Did you know that coffee was discovered in Ethiopia or that it’s actually a fruit called a coffee cherry? Have you ever thought about adding spices, eggs, nuts, alcohol, charcoal or vanilla to your coffee like they do in various other places around the world? Coffee has been around for hundreds of years and there are more variations and recipes than you could possibly hope to count. But who has the time to research how to make a cafecito from Cuba? Who has the money to travel to Indonesia and experience kopi rarobang, or spiced coffee and coconut milk called bajigur, or a coffee avocado smoothie?
